THE OCEAN FILM FESTIVAL WORLD TOUR ITALIA COMES TO CAGLIARI

Luna Rossa and Ogyre take center stage at “Blue Voices – Beyond the Racecourse” ahead of the screenings

Exploring the ocean from different perspectives, bringing together adventure, sport, exploration, biodiversity, and conservation. This is one of the central themes of the Cagliari stop of the OCEAN Film Festival World Tour Italia, coming to Teatro delle Saline on October 29. The event marks the only Sardinian stop on the tenth Italian edition of the traveling film festival dedicated to the ocean, the people connected to it, and the stories that explore the relationship between humans and the marine environment.

Before the film screenings, the theater will host “Blue Voices – Beyond the Racecourse”, a free talk open to the public featuring Antonio Augeri, co-founder and CEO of Ogyre, and Vittorio Bissaro, trimmer for Luna Rossa. The talk will be moderated by Valentina Gottlieb, environmental advocate and SEA BEYONDer, a Goodwill Ambassador for SEA BEYOND. Launched in 2019, Prada Group’s SEA BEYOND project is conducted in partnership with UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC). It aims to raise awareness of ocean conservation and sustainability by advancing ocean literacy worldwide through a range of educational initiatives for young people.

As its title suggests, “Blue Voices – Beyond the Racecourse” explores a relationship with the ocean that extends beyond sporting competition and the racecourse. On one side is the Luna Rossa sailing team, where research, innovation, and competitive ambition come together with a deep passion for the sea. On the other is Ogyre, which actively works to protect ocean ecosystems by collecting and recovering marine waste. These two distinct experiences share a daily connection to the sea and a commitment to deepening our understanding of it and helping protect it.

The talk will run from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. Admission is free, but advance registration is required here. The event is also open to those who will not be attending the subsequent OCEAN Film Festival screenings, which require a separate ticket.
