Born in California, Chad earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His studies focused on Geographic Information Systems and Cartography, fields with strong ties to data manipulation and visualization. Combined with his childhood passion for competitive yacht racing, his professional career has gravitated towards the use of data to tell a story and to help sailors identify the drivers of their performance. He has participated in five America’s Cup campaigns, starting in 2001 with Oracle Racing. Since then, he has won the Cup twice, the first time in 2013 with Oracle Team USA and the second in 2017 with Emirates Team New Zealand. Winning the Cup for Italy for the first time would certainly be a highlight of his career. His free time is dedicated to his wife and two boys. The 2024 edition will be his 6th America’s Cup, the first with Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli.
