Born in Castelfranco Veneto and with a degree in Sports Science, Paolo began cycling competitively at the age of 10, collecting several successes in both the Junior and Under 23 categories (including the first round of the Track World Cup in the Omnium specialty, the bronze medal in the team pursuit at the European Elite Championships in Panevėžys and a stage win at the Giro del Friuli-Venezia Giulia). After deciding to go professional in 2015, he took part in three editions of the Giro d'Italia, the Tour Colombia and the Tour of Xingtai and won the last stage of the Tour of Croatia. Retiring from professional cycling in 2021, he becomes Race Regulator at the Giro d'Italia. In 2022 he applies for a cyclor role in Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli and, following a very competitive selection, joins the team. The 2024 race will be his first America's Cup. He loves travelling, supporting his family business (growing Treviso radicchio), and any outdoor activity.
